Development Management Practice Note 8 "Planning & Climate Change"

Many authorities have developed expertise and strategies for Climate Change. PPS1 Climate Change supplement and much other relevant guidance is available on the web. The purpose of this guidance note, published in July 2008, was not to duplicate that expertise and guidance. It is intended to assist those authorities not in the vanguard of climate change planning policies to develop their thinking and to act as a check list for them. Those embarking on such work will find the Woking Borough Council web site a useful starting point for best practice ideas.

The note first considers Renewable Energy and then Sustainable Building Design.
