The Society, through POS Enterprises, has a track record of creating a number of learning and dissemination projects; these are now known as "supported learning groups".

General information on the SLGs is available here, and in some cases all relevant information is available. For many only registered particpants willbe able to gain access.

Past groups are:

  • LDF Project
  • DM Practice project
  • DM and Spatial Planning Project
  • Area Action Plan and Area Based Planning Project

Current groups are:

  • Minerals and Waste - [insert text]
  • CIL and Infrastructure Planning -  The POSe CIL and Infrastructure Panning Project is a supported learning group intended to give LPAs practical assistance in preparing for both Local Iinfrastructure Plans (LIPs) and the Community Infrastructure levy (CIL) - it being done jointly with the PAS. So far learning groups have been set up and a serious of seminars undertaken on a regional basis. This involves working with 60 LPAs in three groups - two national and one regional. Meetings take place quarterly. The project officer is Graham Jones: GJ@jandjplanning.demon.co.uk
  • Responding to Climate Change - The Society, in association with Woking BC, set in train a project for a supported learning group whose members have explored different aspects of planning for climate change at a practical level, and explored how policies can be developed which are effective and readily applied in relation to development proposals.  Eleven authorities have participating with PAS also in attendance; yar one of the project has concluded and a second year is likley to commence in September 21010.
