21st President for the Planning Officers Society elected

Steve Ingram, Strategic Director Development and Growth with South Kesteven DC, has become the new President of the Planning Officers Society.  He was elected at the Society's Annual General Meeting held in Milton Keynes on Friday 16th June 2017. Ingram is the 21st President of the Society since its formation in 1997.

At the AGM Steve stated that "my aim for the year is to ensure that POS remains at the forefront of promoting sector led best practice and that the Society is therefore consistently focused upon meeting the needs of its Membership."

Steve is a chartered Town Planner with over 25 years' experience of working within local government. Having worked for authorities in the North-west and East of England Steve joined South Kesteven District Council in July 2014 as its Strategic Director Development and Growth with specific responsibility for leading on the Council's ambitious spatial and economic growth agenda's.

Steve is also a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, a Director of POS Enterprises and Gravitas Housing Ltd and was latterly an expert advisor to Lord Taylor's review of national planning practice guidance.

The Immediate Past President of the Society is Milton Keynes Council's Service Director for Planning and Transport Director of Planning & Environment, Anna Rose. The new Senior Vice-President is Paul Seddon, Chief Planner at Nottingham City Council.
