Changes to the New Homes Bonus Will Blunt Incentives for Growth, Says POS

Date: 12/7/2013

In response to the Government's announcement that the New Homes Bonus fund will be top-sliced to be spent on LEP strategic priorities Mike Kiely, President of the Planning Officers Society, told Planning that  this will "blunt the incentive for growth" and that "there are already mechanisms for allocating funds to strategic infrastructure."

Kiely also said  that the Bonus provides a real "focus on the growth agenda for councillors" and added that "it is too early to say it's not yet providing an incentive."
