Date: 18/4/2008

Hambleton was put on show to planners from across the UK this week.

The district hosted the annual spring conference of the Planning Officers Society. The delegates were given an insight into key planning achievements and decisions for the North Yorkshire district by Society President, Steve Quartermain, Hambleton District Council’s executive director.

Delegates also heard from keynote speakers on current issues affecting the planning profession. And the event included contributions from the Home Builders Federation and the Royal Town PIanning Institute.

“The Spring Conference allows delegates time for networking with leading local authority planners as well as providing a valuable learning opportunity for society members to enable them to keep at the cutting edge of the planning profession,” said Steve. “It is a pleasure to be able to show off my home patch during my year as President. We have some great examples of ‘good’ planning in Hambleton that other professionals can learn from.”
