Rejection of Plans to Demolish Liverpool Victorian Streets Heralds a Warning, Says POS

Paul Seddon, the POS Placemaking and Heritage Subject Specialist, told Planning magazine that the decision by Eric Pickles sends a clear signal that the significance of all heritage assets must be properly understood for successful regeneration and placemaking. The decision "makes clear the strong emphasis on heritage and quality of urban design in the NPPF."

Seddon added "it recognises that the inherited character of an area and the significance of all heritage assets need to be understood and can be worked with to help successful regenerationand good placemaking."
