Confusion over calculating five-year housing land supply

Date: 20/6/2017

Planning magazine reports that the Home Builders Federation believe that there is confusion over how the new arrangement for agreeing an authority's five-year land supply would work. James Stevens, director for cities for the HBF, suggested that there was a question mark over whether the housing delivery test would continue to exist alongside the five-year land supply test.

Catriona Riddell, strategic planning subject specialist for the Planning Officers Society, said the society's view was that only one of these tests should be in force.

But if the housing delivery test was to take over from the five-year land supply test, she said that "you need to know that the housing delivery test can work and that the housing action plans can work and make a difference."
