Death of Hilary Herbert

The Planning Officers Society annouces the death of Hilary Herbert, former President and current Vice President Emeritus, following a battle with cancer.

Hilary was President of the Society for 2006/07 and continued to serve on the Cabinet as Vice President Emeritus; she was also the Planning Manager for Surrey CC.

David Hackforth, Society Senior Vice President, said coming so soon after the death of David Wood this is a sad loss for the Society. Our thoughts are with Hilary's family and colleagues.

Surrey Head of Environment, Roger Hargreaves, said she was not only a very respected and professional town planner but a wonderful colleague whose friendliness and serenity touched all who worked with her.
