Planning Plays an Invaluable Role for Schools Development Says POS and LG Group in Joint Consultation Response

The LG Group (LGA) and POS have submitted a joint response to the Government's consulation on Schools Development.

In making the submission John Silvester, Spokesperson for POS, said "we reminded government that the planning system currently plays a valuable role in ensuring schools are appropriately located and meet community needs without undue disturbance to the local neighbourhood."

He went on to say "we cannot find any evidence that planning authorities are using the planning system to frustrate Government policy for education.  Indeed, instead of creating obstacles the feedback we have received from school developers is the planning system is a useful design review process for thinking through the deliverability of their projects."
