POS welcomes the Government’s commitment to continuing investment in the planning process through HPDG as the successor to PDG and recognises the priority to be given to housing as the key priority. The importance of planning in Place Shaping and delivering housing, in the right quantities and of the right type and quality, in the right places and at the right time cannot be overstated. We nevertheless would not wish to see achievement of other priority Government policy objectives overlooked by the reward system.
