Phil Kirby, Development  Management Committee, said: "It would seem that in the majority of councils, planning services have been tasked with administering the high hedges legislation. The research has identified a range of fees being levied with a strong commitment to review this after a period in operation. A couple of LPA's have reported receiving their first applications under the new legislation and POS will continue to monitor how this additional duty impacts upon the main stream work."
