POS SUPPORTS HOUSEHOLDER DEVELOPMENT CONSENTS REVIEW

The Planning Officers Society, in commenting on the recently announced Householder Development Consents Review, believes the review is a helpful contribution to the debate about making planning systems more proportionate; something which has been promoted by the Planning Officers Society for some time. The Society maintains that the recommendations chart a practical way forward to achieving this objective.

Phil Kirby, Junior Vice President of the Society, commented “The review conclusions demonstrate that a fundamental shift is required away from a standardised process driven system to one that better reflects different impacts and customer requirements.”

The Planning Officers Society is looking forward to contributing to the further work proposed.
