3. Minutes of last meeting
The minutes were agreed.
Matters arising from the minutes of 10 July 09.
Roger Hargreaves circulated a list of joint DPDs being prepared around the country which Andrew Close from CLG had provided. This showed that there were only 70 of which 40 were for minerals and waste and a wide variation between regions, ranging from 16 in the East of England and only three in London, the north east and the north west.
In discussion the following points were made:
- Many Las had informal arrangements for working together
- A map of joint arrangement would be helpful, particularly to see how they related to cross boundary and sub-regional situations
It was agreed that the secretary would write to those authorities involved in joint arrangements to find out more about the reason for the joint arrangement and how well it is going. ACTION: Roger Hargreaves
