Supported Learning Groups
The Society has a track record of creating a number of learning and dissemination projects, now known as "supported learning groups".
Past groups are:
- LDF Project
- DM Practice project
- DM and Spatial Planning Project
- Area Action Plan and Area Based Planning Project
Current groups are:
- CIL and Infrastructure Planning - The POSe CIL and Infrastructure Panning Project is a supported learning group intended to give LPAs practical assistance in preparing for both Local Iinfrastructure Plans (LIPs) and the Community Infrastructure levy (CIL) - it being done jointly with the PAS. So far learning groups have been set up and a serious of seminars undertaken on a regional basis. This involves working with 60 LPAs in three groups - two national and one regional. - Responding to Climate Change - The Society, in association with Woking BC, has set in train a project for a supported learning group whose members explore different aspects of planning for climate change at a practical level, and explore how policies can be developed which are effective and readily applied in relation to development proposals.
