As with the previous Green Paper, it contains a number of principles that we welcome. However, we have a number of questions and comments about aspects of the paper.

This paper should be read in conjunction with our response to Green Paper, with which it No. 9 - Control Shift: Returning Power to Local Communities overlaps. (See the Society's earlier response Document click here). It addresses only those aspects of Green Paper No. 10 which appear to relate, directly or indirectly, to the planning system. Numbers in brackets relate to the relevant section of the Green Paper.

The Society is in the process of arranging a summit conference, to be held on 20th October in central London,  to discuss the implications of the Conservative Party's Green Papers on Planning and Housing in an attempt to influence their thinking on planning. Watch the website for details.
