What is POS?

Answer:

 

The Planning Officers Society, or POS for short, represents the most senior professionals and managers of planning functions in the English Local Authorities.

We set out to:

  • Act as an advocate and promoter of Local Government planning
  • Assist and advise the Government and the Local Government Association on planning matters and related issues
  • Promote all aspects of the built and green environment by working closely with other organisations and profession
  • Act as a centre of excellence, undertake research and promote best practice in planning matter

How can I join POS?

Answer:

First you will need to check your eligibility to join; go to the POS Info page and then the Membership page.

If you consider that you are eligible you can either download a form from the membership page and return it as instructed; or you can use the on-line registrationform by clicking on Become a member
