Committees

The principal work of the Society is undertaken by a series of Committees. These relate to the various planning and related matters for which heads of planning in local government in England and Wales are responsible.

Each comprises representatives from throughout the Society with, as far as possible, members from each region and has a Chairman, Vice-Chairmen and Secretary. Contact with a Committees on its work should be made via their Secretary.

The Committees each have their own terms of reference and business plans and as a result work in a variety of different ways; for example acting as think tanks or setting up specific task groups as appropriate.
