President 2007/2008

At the time of being President Steve was Director of Planning & Environmental Services at Hambleton DC, steering the Council to achieving an ‘excellent’ performance rating and becoming a Beacon Council in 2007 for using the planning system to create sustainable communities. Steve left in 2008 to become the Chief Planner for MHCLG and acts as Head of Profession within the Civil Service. He was awarded the CBE in 2014 in recognition of his work.
