POS Spatial Planning

The Spatial Planning Network is a primary source of advice on spatial planning matters for POS, The Network provides a focus for Public Sector/Local Authority planning officers to share and disseminate information and good practice on a range planning policy issues and government consultations particularly at the key meetings throughout the year. The Network aims to advise and influence policy at all levels through liaison with Government bodies.

Meetings

Usually we hold four meetings each year. Two conference style events held jointly with the Development Management Network at which key speakers from Local Authorities and Government bodies are invited to speak on the planning issues of the day which act as an update on the national issues facing local government planners and an opportunity to share views. This is supplemented by at least two roundtable sessions at which key policy topics are discussed by local authority officers and invited officers from DLUHC, PINS and PAS. The Network is an excellent vehicle for members to exchange views, keep up with planning practice, update on latest initiatives and speak directly with Government Officers.
