Junior Vice President

Sarah has over 20 years’ experience in planning across London Boroughs and the GLA and is now Director of Planning & Development at Islington Council.  She previously led the planning function at Birmingham City Council. She has a desire to deliver excellence in the public sector and create great places to live, visit and work.

Sarah has expertise right across the planning profession; from negotiating the most strategic planning applications and securing complex legal agreements, to leading regeneration programmes, and taking Local Plan Reviews through the Examination in Public process.

As an Assistant Director at Birmingham, Sarah expertly navigated working within a corporate environment and elevating the importance of planning at a senior level in the authority. She is an advocate for advances in practice and a passionate advocate for the power of planning.
